OSP provided key evidence in US conviction of form
The Office of the Special Prosecutor says it quietly supplied evidence that helped US authorities convict former Tema Oil Refinery boss Asante Kwaku Berko, who a Brooklyn jury found guilty August 6 of paying over $1 million in bribes to Ghanaian officials between 2014 and 2015 over a power-plant deal involving Turkish firm Aksa Enerji and Goldman Sachs. The US Justice Department credited Ghana's assistance as significant to the case. Berko, who holds dual Ghanaian-American citizenship, faces up to 30 years in prison and is due to be sentenced November 10.
