These businesses employ far more people collectively than any single large corporation, yet they remain the last to get meaningful tax relief, the last to access affordable credit, and the first to be disrupted when policy changes without warning. Supporting SMEs shouldn't just mean the occasional grant scheme announced with fanfare and forgotten within a year. It means predictable regulation, genuinely accessible micro-lending, and simplifying the registration process that still pushes too many businesses to stay informal rather than deal with the paperwork.
