The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has told traders at Agbogbloshie's Nzema Market to clear out within a month, with the eviction notice served August 4 and set to expire August 28, 2026. The affected land - covering the cargo station, Nzema Market, and part of the Yam Market - is being cleared for a new 24-Hour Economy Market facility. AMA says traders will be moved to a site it has set aside for them, following weeks of consultation with market leaders and a public education campaign that began in early August.
